Gary Brown Announces Running For Auckland Mayor

Gary Brown is running for mayor of Auckland city, New Zealand 2022.


Gary Brown, currently residing in Orewa and who grew up and has lived in Auckland for over 50 years has thrown his hat into the ring to contest the 2022 mayoral race. Gary announced his intention to stand in a live Facebook video on April 1 2022, however this is no April Fools joke.


Gary – who is currently the chair of the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board – has been involved in his community for as long as he can remember, running many events such as Christmas at the beach, The New Zealand Walk of Fame and of course being the ONLY authorised Austin Powers impersonator in the world allowing him to reach millions of fans during his long and successful entertainment career. He is also of the referee’s association and involved heavily in his local surf lifesaving club.


Our next local election is on Saturday 8 October 2022. Elections are held every three years by postal vote. Voting closes at 12 noon on 8 October 2022. You can enrol here:
